Postal Rate Increase May 11, 2009

New Inspection Service Online Safety Guide
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has issued a new guide to increase online safety for children.
Publication 312, A U.S. Postal Inspector’s Guide to Internet Safety for Children, is now available to help parents with this important responsibility. The majority of child exploitation cases investigated by Postal Inspectors — about 95 percent — involves both the mail and the Internet. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children estimates one of every seven youths between ages 10 to 17 have been sexually solicited online. Only 12 percent ever told a parent. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has been investigating the sexual exploitation of children for more than a century.
